Brock isn't the number one contender but this will make him in the UFC. If he beats Randy, he is made man in MMA. Anyone object to that?

The winner will face the winner of Mir/Big Nog to unify the interm and heavyweight titles. So apparently he is the #1 contender.
I guess there will be no argument. But I am curious to see how this fight goes. |

i think its cool. its a big test for the one with a dick on his chest. The UFC has also said that they will do whatever they can to get a Fedor vs randy fight for 09. the problem is, if randy loses to lesner or the winner of the other fight then no one cares about the Fedor fight.
On the other hand, a semi tournament to crown a true ufc heavy champ is cool in my book. |

sorry had to add this.
If randy does win the two fights. lets say he beats Lesner and big Nog, and the ufc does sign fedor to fight randy, just think of how much money that will pull in.
And no Brock is not a #1 contender but its the smartest fight the UFC could make. They would be stupid to do anything else. "the next big thing vs. the legend." if lesner wins its a passing of the torch moment in the ufc, if randy wins its also great for the ufc because the legend is back, and it takes them closer to a fight with Fedor. |

Lesnar vs Couture isn't the biggest fight in history like White claims, but it is the best money match that the UFC can offer. With Brock's strength I don't see how Couture can do much. This fight will most likely be like the Herring fight. A whole lot of nothing for the entire fight.
While Randy might be able to get a submission in, I doubt. Lesnar is to scared to make a mistake and get caught, so lesnar will get him down and smother him.
As far as Fedor vs Couture in 09, don't see how that can happen. Fedor sign an extention with Affliction and has a no compete in the US, but is free to fight over seas. So unless the loophole is a London Ufc event, I just don't see it. The competition at the heavyweight level just isn't there in the UFC. |

| This is awesome news. I reckon this has the potential to be the biggest fight in MMA history for two reasons. 1. This is the legend vs 'the next big thing' 2. Its captain america vs the cocky disrespectful dick. With the right kind of build this has the potential to be huge. However, on the flip side if they do drw in a lot of new fans and Brock just smothers him for 5 rounds then these fans wont come back in a hurry. |
