I saw a poll today on PWTorch.com asking whether the top TNA Knockouts should be paid in the ballpark of TNA's top male names since the Knockouts out draw them on TV consistently. At the time of viewing this 57% or 168 of 297 votes said yes, If they're of similar overall experience and 16% or 47 of 297 votes said, yes, regardless of experience, pay up!

Is it me or does that seem that people are trying to be to PC and be all in touch with equal right BS? In my experience Knockouts or "Divas," I don't care what you call them, have always been there for eye candy. Yes, they are athletic, but I doubt anyone of that 73% said to themselves, "Oh man, I can't miss that Awesome Kong/Gail Kim street fight tonight on Impact." No, they tuned it because it is a wrestling show other than WWE and the some of the Knockouts are good looking and have nice bodies.

Look, I am not trying to be sexist here, but it is true. Anyone that says otherwise is either trying to be politically correct or they are delusional. Either way, I don't care, the bottom line is, until a Knockout match headlines a PPV and fans are breaking down the doors of the Impact zone, trying to get a great seat for Love vs. ODB, they won't be said the same.

I could make the generic WNBA comparison but there is always someone like Gina Carrano who will disprove that comparison. I could understand getting paid the same if Gina case held true for the TNA Knockouts. Fans pay money to see Gina fight and she should be paid just the same as her male counterparts. Elite XC could be built around Gina, TNA is not built around and could not be built around the Knockouts.

If this was the wwe, I'd pat the girl on the head, tell you her to shut up and get into her underwear. However TNA Knockout segments are amongst the highest segment in TNA. And the fact that tna actually used a womens match as the main event of an impact episode, puts them on equal footing. If they are going to pay bloated salaries for guys who are actually to old to be considered relevant or even quality wrestlers, than why not pay those same salaroes to those that actually bloat on a monthly basis

But can you build your brand around it? Do fans tune in specifically to see them? No.

You could. It wouldn't be the first time that a show was womens wrestling. Hell all the girls on that roster came from a womens wrestling promotion. And lets not forget how successful GLOW was in th eighties and early nineties. The only reason that went away was because wwe and wcw started focusing more on women and drew from that talent pool, much like wwe did with AWA and like wcw did from wwe and tna from ring of honor

I think that with the current boring state of wrestling people are looking for something different, and womens wrestling might be it. Probably not but it could be the next big thing.

TNA does cross the line. They could just steal the rest of the talent from Shimmer and make Knockouts it's own show, and it would probably get better retings than Impact. Rumor has it that they were looking to have a seperate show for the women, if so, then they definitely deserve the same pay as the coked-up Angle, the pot head Booker, or the Jesus loving Sting.
