WrestleMania 25 scored 960,000 buys, which fell short of the company's low end goal of reaching one million buys.

-The Backlash pay-per-view had 182,000 buys, which is down from 200,000 buys last year.

-The Judgment Day pay-per-view produced 228,000 buys, which is down from 252,000 buys last year.

-The Bash pay-per-view was the worst of the bunch with 178,000 buys. It dropped off considerably from the 273,000 buys that Night of Champions did during the same month last year. The number from the 2009 Night of Champions was not released because it fell in the third quarter

So the question is the drop in buys due to
1.) To many ppv's?
2.) Ppv competition from the UFC and other mma events?
3.) A fiscal refusal to watch the same people over and over in marginal matches with predictable outcomes?

For me it is MMA ppvs, I've seen more MMA ppvs than WWE ppvs in the past year. Maybe that has a little bit to do with the fact that MMA is far more entertaining than anything WWE has done recently. The UFC video game has also helped me get more into MMA than ever before. You can quote me on that.

I'm with Derek, the past 2 years or so since I started listening to WOT I've spent more time and money on the mma side.
I still watch wrestling and enjoy 4 out of 5 shows but not enough to drop $40 bucks a month on a uninspired ppv that has 1 or 2 matches thaty are good
